Job Description:
- Design, create, and plan required homework for students.
- Teach lecture and lab components of various upper level mathematics courses.
- Plan course content and assign appropriate course work and maintain student records.
- Collaboratively select and adopt appropriate texts and teaching materials.
- Assist in placement of graduates when appropriate.
- Attend and participate in conferences related to teaching area; membership in appropriate professional organizations is recommended.
- Evaluate and grade students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
Secondary Duties:
- Attend regularly scheduled staff, instructor, or other meetings. Schedule & run curriculum meetings.
- Must be willing to comply with other duties as assigned in support of the academic and curriculum components of the LBIS program (this is an evolving position and thus some degree of growth and change in responsibilities can be expected).
Job Requirements:
- Min. 3 years Teaching Mathematics A/AS level and IGCSE level-
- Good English command is a must (Conducts lesson in English only).
- Completed training by CIE for mathematics or physics.
- Creative, good team player, patient care and love working with children’s.
- Can work under pressure, responsible, and motivated.
Capabilities:
- Able to teach Pure Mathematics and Statistics, Further/Additional Mathematics will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to focus teaching on reasoning and the Why and How of mathematics, rather than memorization.
- Demonstrated passion for mathematics and the ability to connect theory and practice effectively and with ease.
- Passion for teaching A/AS level and IGCSE level students as well and passion for encouraging students towards excellence, hard work, perseverance, and pushing themselves beyond where they think they can go.
- Familiarity with administrative policies and procedures in A/AS level and IGCSE level.
