Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain firewall configurations to ensure optimal protection against external and internal threats.
- Perform routine monitoring of firewall activities and analyze logs to detect potential threats.
- Develop, implement, and maintain firewall policies and rules in accordance with company security standards.
- Manage and monitor the patch management system to ensure all software and operating systems are updated with the latest security patches.
- Create and maintain patching schedules, and execute patching processes based on priority and system impact.
- Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to ensure patch compatibility and resolve any issues that may arise during the patching process.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of existing firewall and patch management policies and procedures.
- Provide training and support to teams on best practices for firewall and patch management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network security, with a specific focus on firewall management and patch management.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA Security, Palo Alto Networks PCNSA/PCNSE, or certifications related to patch management are preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of firewall configuration and management as well as patching mechanisms across various operating systems.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve issues quickly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with effective communication skills.
- Skills in technical documentation and report creation.
