Get to know the Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist (Analytics), someone who has experience analyzing large structured & unstructured datasets to generate insights that help drive key marketing & growth decisions. This person should possess the ability to thrive in ambiguity, should have proven experience in analytics and in managing multiple stakeholders, and has a passion to develop a sustainable future. Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for individuals who embody our core values—the 4Hs: heart, hunger, honour, and humility.
The team works closely with various teams in Grab – Business, Operations, Marketing but also Engineering, Product and other Data teams, to understand data requirements, identify and track key metrics, and provide data-driven solutions that are tailored and relevant to always-evolving innovation in our markets.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will collaborate with strategy teams in marketing, growth, marketplace, and operations to understand & deliver their data needs in solving problems.
- You will conduct in-depth analysis, setting up experimentation, and provide insights based on business needs.
- You will present recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and actionable outcomes.
- You will support a broad range of projects related to automation, scalable measurement and analytics efficiency.
- Develop data-driven solutions and self-serve tools such as reports, data toolkits, dashboards, user segmentation, and analytical frameworks to empower stakeholders regular data needs.
- You will provide support and training to stakeholder teams on analytical insights, tools and methodologies.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- At least 2 years of analytical experience conjugated with business acumen, preferably in the e-commerce, the Internet industry, or consulting.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative subjects.
- Ability to work with large and complex data sets including collect, organize & analyze large datasets with attention to detail and accuracy, experienced in handling Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes.
- Advanced knowledge of analytical tools such as database querying (SQL, Presto, Hive), visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, PowerBI) and programming languages (Python, R).
- Fast-learner, versatile, self-driven, detail-oriented and collaborative
- Excellent communication skills to translate analytics specificities for all audiences.
- High ownership and driven to learn new skills and deliver results.
- Full professional working proficiency in English [and in Local Language] is required.
