Python Developer
About the Role:
As a Python Developer, you will leverage your expertise to build and maintain web scraping tools, extract valuable data, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information gathered. You will work closely with our development team to integrate third-party packages and APIs into our web-harvesting software, troubleshoot issues, and adhere to scraping targets. Key Responsibilities:
- Write Python code/scripts to scrape data from websites and PDFs.
- Build and maintain web scraping software using Python (e.g., BeautifulSoup, ExtractTable API).
- Integrate third-party packages and API libraries into web-harvesting software.
- Use reverse proxies and CAPTCHA resolvers as needed.
- Identify and accurately label useful data from websites.
- Adhere to website-scraping targets and review scraped data for accuracy.
- Troubleshoot quality issues and collaborate with development teams for testing.
- Respond to requests from the design team and management.
- Monitor bug tracking and error reporting in Jira.
Additional Knowledge (Beneficial):
- Knowledge of AWS (S3).
- Knowledge of Apache Airflow for orchestration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Fluent in English.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development or data science with strong Python skills.
- Technically minded with the ability to quickly learn and master new software.
- Experience in a technical role with a background in data scraping is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated.
