This role is responsible for supervising production as per stipulated volumes and quality standards in the assigned shifts. This involves optimum manpower deployment, allocation of machines and equipment to the operators and guiding the operators to maximise their productivity in compliance of Standard Operating Processes of the Organisation. This role is required to assign staff members to shifts and supervise and monitor timely completion of tasks in adherence to the statutory and safety rules. An important aspect of the role is to maintain adequate stock of stores and consumables and monitor the optimal usage of the same. Criticality is achieving optimum conversion of SO2 to sulphuric acid during assigned shift. Upstream is batch process and downstream is continuous, requiring adjustment of parameters in the control room to match SO2 content variation. Supervising dispatch of the sulphuric acid through the pipeline and subsequent loading into the vessels is an important element of the role.
- To supervise production of planned volumes of sulphuric acid within stipulated purity range, budgeted cost and time frame through efficient operation and resource utilisation of the Sulphuric Acid plant during the assigned shift
- To supervise implementation that the company’s SOPs with focus on productivity, quality, safety, health, environmental stipulations at the Sulphuric Acid plant during the assigned shift.
- To continuously upgrade skills of the team and embed a culture of quality, safety and sustainability
- To collect and analyse data, generate MIS and initiate improvement actions to drive efficiencies
Requirements:
- Graduate /Diploma Engineer in Chemical/ Metallurgy/ Process Engineering
- Domain knowledge on acid production, smelter operation, project improvement, metallurgical acid accounting
- Understanding of maintenance practices
- Understanding of quality systems and process control tools
- Planning and organization skills
- Analytical decision making
- Interpersonal effectiveness and Conflict management
